Placemat Card Holder

Good Morning, Stampers!

I have an "oldie but goodie" to share with you today!
I made these probably 10 years ago for holiday gifts
and they were a huge hit! It's time for an update!
I used a sewing machine, but you can easily hand-stitch
or use iron-on adhesive with similar results.
It's a fun way to give the gift of cards for any occasion/theme.

Grab a 12" x 18" placemat

Lay the placemat (top side down) onto a flat surface.
From the bottom, fold 3" up to form the pockets.
Pin into place and sew along the edge of each side.

Measure 6" from each side to form the inner pocket.
Pin into place and stitch up the 3" to secure on each side.

Cut a 36" piece of coordinating ribbon.
Tack a few stitches in the center of the ribbon
onto the backside of the card holder to
hold the ribbon in place.

Fill the inside with cards/envelopes/postage/pen.
You can add a small occasion appropriate
tag to the top and tie the ribbon in a bow.

Plan now and be ready for holiday gift-giving!

What a super cute idea, Melissa! I recently bought an inexpensive sewing machine to make some masks, and have been at a loss as to whether or not to now give up the machine because I am just NOT into sewing, but this project made me change my mind since it's easily doable by a newbie sewer like me! Thank you for posting this sweet gem of a gift idea!

Thanks, Char! It is easy! I am not that good at sewing, either - haha. I can sew a (somewhat) straight line and thats about it. It's a super-easy project!
