Watercolor Spritzing Technique

 Good Morning, Stampers!

There are so many techniques to give your card a watercolor effect, and spritzing is an easy way to make that happen! Start with Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper to help the watercolor move more naturally. Once you stamp the image, spritz it with water using a Stampin’ Spritzer and allow the ink spread a bit before letting it dry. Then, stamp the image again on top. Make sure it’s completely dry before you adhere the image to a card base. And voilĂ —you’ve got a fun, abstract watercolor look! Finish off your projects with a few little coordinating embellishments.

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Cards with Stripes

Good Morning, Stampers!

This week, the Create with Connie and Mary team is playing
with stripes! I had so much fun creating this card - I made my
own striped designer paper using water painters and ink!
This is a great way to get a custom-color match for a specific
occasion or event and it's so easy to do!

I took a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock and created the
wide lines using Pool Party ink and the wide water painter.
For the thinner lines, I used Pool Party and Bermuda Bay inks
and the thin brush water painter. Once I had all the stripes,
I let it dry completely before adhering to the card base.
For the flowers, I stamped the image onto a piece of
vellum using Whisper White ink and sprinkled with white
embossing powder and heat set it. Then I used my Stampin' Blends
on the BACKSIDE of the vellum to color in the image giving it
a soft water-color look. A little tip: I adhered the vellun to the card
front using mini Stampin' Dimensionals. Then, I covered them up with
an Iridescent Rhinestone on top of each.

SU!pplies:
Stamps: Hand-Penned Petals
Ink: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party
Paper: Think Basic White, Bermuda Bay, Vellum
Accessories: Stylish Shapes dies, Heat Tool, White embossing powder, Water Painters, Iridescent Rhinestones
Stampin' Blends: Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Old Olive

Flowering Blooms Watercolor

Good Morning, Stampers!

Today's project features simple watercoloring using Waterpainters. Waterpainters allow more water control than a regular paint brush with water.

I started by stamping the image onto the watercolor paper using Jet Black Stazon ink. Once dried, I lightly wet the paper with water and brushed a faint background of Balmy Blue ink. After that dried, I colored the leaves using Old Olive ink and the flowers using Rococo Rose ink. Finally, I added the sentiment along with the ribbon and enamel dot embellishments. Here's a tip: Use your Stampin' Blends to color coordinate your enamel dots and gems! For an added "wow", add Shimmery Crystal Effects for a "wet" look. Be sure to let it fully dry.

SU!pplies:
Stamps: Flowering Blooms
Ink: Jet Black Stazon, Balmy Blue
Paper: Watercolor, Crumb Cake. Rococo Rose
Accessories: Shimmery Crystal Effects, Old Olive Stampin' Blends, Enamel Dots, Ornate Frames dies, Waterpainters

Just stamp the images onto watercolor paper and lightly spritz and let the colors blend. Allow to dry or heat set before adding the daisy and die cut sentiment. I heard a lot of "ohh, I want that!" from stampers as they were creating this card! I think this suite is going to be popular!
