It's A Scavenger Hunt Challenge!

Good Morning, Stampers!

It time for a Thursday Color Challenge with a twist today at Create with Connie and Mary! In honor of celebrating the Create with Connie and Mary 2012 Holiday Edition Preview Week, we have a fun scavenger hunt game for you to play for a chance to win a FREE Subscription! Here is what you need to do:

Visit all (9) of the Designer's Blogs today and hunt for a secret word. Once you find all of the words, rearrange them to uncover the secret phrase. Visit  Create with Connie and Mary for instructions on where to send your answer. That's it! Good Luck & Happy Hunting!

So here is the color challenge for this week. I absolutely fell in love with these colors! They are so bright yet warm for this time of the year!

Here is my card! I decided to use a much-neglected stamp set called Bright Blossoms. It is such a cute little set that got lots of use during the pre-order special a few months back, but has been sitting untouched ever since.

I began with a piece of Lucky Limeade cardstock and embossed it using the Houndstooth embossing folder. I wrapped a piece of Lucky Limeade ribbon and tied it in a knot at the top of the card and attached the panel to a Whisper White card front. On the top of the card, I stamped the smallest flourish from the Flowering Flourishes stamp set in Lucky Limeade and the sentiment from Sweet Essentials in Night of Navy. The label was created by cutting a piece of Night of Navy cardstock using the Apothecary Accents framelit and punching the oval scallop in Rich Razzleberry. Finally, the top of the label was stamped with Lucky Limeade on the leaves/stem and the flower with Night of Navy ink. The little Rich Razzleberry button comes from the Brights Designer Buttons and adhered with a glue dot. A pearl on top of the button and the flower completes the label. Adhere the label to the card front.

SU!pplies:

Stamps: Bright Blossoms, Sweet Sentiments, Flowering Flourishes
Ink: Night of Navy, Lucky Limeade
Paper: Lucky Limeade, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy
Accessories: Houndstooth Embossing Folder, Lucky Limeade ribbon, My secret Create word is: time., Scallop Oval Punch, Apothecary Accents framelits, Bright Buttons, Oval Punch, Basic Pearls.

Halloween Recycled

Good Morning, Stampers!

It is Day 4 of the Create with Connie and Mary 2012 Holiday Preview! I don't know about you, but after the Guest Designer Announcement yesterday, I can't wait to see what those talented ladies have up their sleeves! Be sure to head on over today to see who our next Designer is and her adorable project  and BLOG CANDY is being offered!

The ONLY way to get a look at all of the amazing talent is to subscribe, so be sure to head over to Create with Connie and Mary and join while you can take advantage of the Early Bird pricing of ONLY $24.95!

In keeping with my 13 Weeks of Halloween, I have a fun, recycled project to share with you today! Awhile back, we were cleaning out the basement and I came across a box full of glass baby food jars. I have NO IDEA where these came from as my youngest is 11 and he was done with baby food before we even moved into this house 10 years ago! Anyway, I wouldn't let anyone throw them away as I just knew they would get put to good use! And so my little glass Halloween jar came together!

I just love the Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP from the Holiday Mini Catalog! So festive and fun! I added a piece to the lid of the jar using the Liquid Multipurpose Glue and some Old Olive ribbon. Around the jar, I added the striped DSP along with a punched dotted ribbon border in Eggplant Envy using Sticky Strip. Along the bottom, I embossed a strip of Old Olive cardstock using the Cheveron embossing folder. The cat, oh, how I LOVE this cat! I inked the image in Pumpkin Pie ink and colored a few of the words and wiskers with my Eggplant Envy marker and stamped it onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut him out. I added a little Wysteria Wonder Baker's Twine for the collar and (2) googlie eyes on the face to finish him off. The little banner is done with Pumpkin Pie and Eggplant envy markers on Very Vanilla cardstock as well. Adhere all of the pieces to the jar using Stampin' Dimensionals.

SU!pplies:

Stamps: Frightening Feline, Delightful Dozen
Ink: Eggplant Envy, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Eggplant Envy
Accessories: Ribbon Border Punch, Chevron Embossing Folder, Old Olive ribbon, Wysteria Wonder Baker's Twine, Googlie Eyes, Howlstooth and scaringbone DSP

Santa Trap

Good Morning, Stampers!

I have seen so many adorable ideas using mouse traps on Pinterest lately. I know, I do spend a little bit too much time scoping, but there really are a lot of cute and unique ideas there!

My local hardware store had a pretty decent selection of mouse traps, but then my eye caught this huge rat trap. I really liked the size better as I could fit a lot more and there is even plenty of space to write a note. I got a really strange (and silent) look from the cashier (lol!) I was just thankful I was buying it to alter and not to use it for it's real purpose! That cashier would never understand :o)

I measured and cut the Snow Festival Designer Series Paper (126908 $10.95) to fit and adhered it using Multipurpose Glue (110755 $3.95). I inked the edges a bit with Soft Suede ink and a sponge dauber. I stamped Santa from the exclusive Hostess stamp set Christmas Wishes (w127982 - c127985) onto Whisper White cardstock using Soft Suede ink. I then stamped another Santa image onto Whisper White cardstock using Cherry Cobbler ink. I cut the hat off and adhered it to the first Santa image. I finished it off by adding some scrap pieces of coordinating ribbon at the top and a little white pom pom on the end of the hat.

SU!pplies:

Stamps: Christmas Wishes
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede
Cardstock: Whisper White
Accessories: Various ribbons, sponge dauber, little white pom pom, Snow Festival DSP, Rat Trap

CCMC 215 Thursday Sketch Challenge

Good Morning, Stampers!

I had such a fun time creating this week's Thursday Challenge for Create with Connie and Mary! It is a clean and simple sketch that offers so many possibilities!

To create this card, I first embossed a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White Cardstock using the Woodgrain embossing folder and adhered it to a Wysteria Wonder card. I stamped the Fancy Fan image in Wysteria Wonder onto a piece of  Wysteria Wonder cardstock and adhered it to the card front. Next, I added a piece of Basic Gray Polka Dot DSP to the card front. On a seperate piece of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the leaves image in Old Olive ink. I cut it using the Apothecary Accents framelits. I then stamped another leaves image onto Whisper White cardstock, cut it out and adhered it to the top of the framelit. I added a small silver brad to each side of the framelit and adhered it to the cardfront with Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, I stamped (3) flower images in Wysteria Wonder ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut them all out. Scrunch up all three flowers and layer them on top of eachother. Punch a small hole and insert a brad in the center. Add the flower to the cardfront using a Stampin' Dimensional. Add a sentiment using Basic Gray ink.

SU!pplies:

Stamps: Petite Pairs, Summer Silhouette
Ink: Wysteria Wonder, Basic Gray
Cardstock: Whisper White, Wysteria Wonder
Accessories: Apothecary Accents Framelits, Neutrals Collections DSP, Silver Brads, 1/16" hole punch, Woodgrain embossing folder, Stampin Dimensionals.

Oh, The Things You Can Do.....

Good Morning, Stampers!

Have you ever looked at something and thought "Oh, the things I could do with that!"? Well, that is just what I thought when I saw the Snow Festival Designer Series Paper (126908) from the 2012 Holiday Mini Catalog! There is a sheet in there that is filled with little squares of adorable little prints that I knew would make great notes/tags for the Holidays! Take a peek:

Simply cut the squares out and adhere them to a piece of  3 1/4" x 6 1/2" folded cardstock!
Of course, I could not just stop there - haha!!

I added a little  "bling" to these!

A little Dazzling Diamonds glitter to these...

Some Shimmer Mist to these....

Ribbons and Sentiments to these...

Dazzling Details to these...

And just some simple sentiments to these!

Sixteen total cards/tags in all - from one sheet of 12x12 paper! SO EASY & FUN!! This would be a great project for the kids or when you need some last-minute, in-a-hurry notes!

My Personal Challenge

Good Morning, Stampers!

This past week, I have been really busy getting ready for upcoming classes, challenges & unique projects. I noticed that a lot of my projects tend to have either ribbon or bling. Now, while there is nothing wrong with having either of those on my projects, I thought it would be a fun challenge for me, personally, to create a card with neither of those.

Boy, was it hard not to add some pearls or lace trim to this! Thank goodness we have a stamp for that!

Your thoughts?

Stamps: Gossamer Lace, Violas Lace, Creative Elements

Ink: Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White

FREE STAMP - Fabric

Good Morning, Stampers!

This past week, I offered my FREE STAMP class. The FREE STAMP class is a way for me to thank my customers and to show them how grateful I am to them! Stampin' Up! announced a spectacular deal on their retired fabric this week, so I thought I would incorporate some fun ideas using fabric on a few different projects. Here is what they made:

The "Friend" card features the Multi-Purpose Adhesive Sheets (120805 $14.95/12) to adhere the scalloped trim along the center of the card.

With the "Thanks" card, it shows how they could iron the Fabric Adhesive (122194 $14.95) onto fabric and apply to fabric using an iron or onto a papercraft project using the heat tool.

The fabric flower was created using the Big Shot Fun Flowers die (121812 $32.95) and (9) layers of fabric along with some spray starch to create a beautiful fabric flower that can be worn as a pin, added to a project & more!

I offer my FREE STAMP class every 3rd Thursday of the Month. Mark your calendars now so you won't miss out later!

Happy Stampin'!

CCMC 214

Good Morning, Stampers!

It's time for another Thursday Challenge at Create with Connie and Mary!  Such a fun & happy color combination for today's challenge!

I was so excited to see the mason jar stamp set - Perfectly Preserved in the 2012 Holiday Mini Catalog! We were long-over due for a jar stamp and it has coordinating framelits, too!

I began with the Polka Dot DSP in the Daffodil Delight and adhered it to the top portion of the card. Then I added the Gumball Green Striped DSP from the In Color Collection to the bottom of the card. Across the center, I added a 5 1/4" piece of Midnight Muse ribbon. Punch a doily from Whisper White cardstock, cut it and adhered it to the card using dimensionals. Stamp the jar on a piece of Whisper white cardstock in Midnight Muse ink. Inside the jar, add the apples in Daffodil Delight & Gumball Green inks. Cut and adhere with dimensionals. The lid was stamped in Midnight Muse tied with a piece of Whisper White Baker's Twine in a bow. I finished up by cutting a 2" x 1" flag using the Daffodil Delight DSP. Cut a small "v" in the bottom & adhere to the card with dimensionals. Wrap the top of the flag with Baker's Twine in a knot. Stamp the sentiment in Gumball Green and punch with the small oval punch. Adhere to the flag. add (2) small flowers to the lower left in Midnight Muse. Attach with dimensionals and add rhinestones to the center.
