CCMC 223

Good Morning, Stampers!

This week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge is a Sketch Challenge. I have to admit, I had a hard time with this sketch. Very rarely do I use diagonals on my cards. I am all thumbs when it comes to getting the lines straight (as you see in my card - lol!) and I find it awkward. Well, that's what a "challenge" is all about, right?!

First, take a look at the sketch:

Now look at my card. Do you see what I am talking about with the uneveness?? I finally just had to get over it - haha.. So I decided to do someting to the card to draw the eye from the edges. I cut a piece of window screen using the Autumn Accents Sizzix die and added an edge of Champagne Glass Glitter. It really sparkled it up!

To add the glass glitter, Add a line of Multi Purpose Liquid Glue to the edge of the leaf.

Sprinkle the glass glitter and shake off the excess.

Allow to dry completely on a piece of waxed paper. Add to your card with glue dots.

SU!pplies:
Stamps: Gently Falling, Lovely Little Labels (Sentiment)
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Autumn Accents Sizzix die, Champagne Glass Glitter, Elelgant Lines embossing folder, Basic Pearls, Linen Thread, Vanilla Seam Binding.

Be sure to check out all of the Designer's fabulous projects at Create with Connie and Mary!

Happy Stampin'!
~Melissa

I didn't even notice the unevenness! What a totally clever idea to use window screen! Love the glass glitter around the edges! Just beautiful!!!

What unevenness?! My eyes went right to the beautiful and unusual leaf/leaves focal point! What a great screen leaf... love the glitter on it too!

Clever use of the screen. It looks great with the Cajun layer underneath. The glass glitter still sits on my work station. I keep forgetting to use it!

Love the use of the screen on your card...I think it is fun when you use non-paper items on cards. Pretty fall card.
