CCMC 220

Good Morning, Stampers!

It is another fabulous challenge once again at Create with Connie and Mary! This week's challenge is a color challenge - take a look:
Interesting color choice, isn't it? This color combination probably wouldn't work too well for Halloween or Thanksgiving, but I thought I could work with it to create a Holiday card.... What do you think?

I like how it turned out. Definitely out-of-the box for me not being in traditional holiday colors! It actually came together quite simply:

The finished card measures 3 3/4" x 5 1/2". I like how the elements of the card carry off the card a bit and the only way to do this so the card still fits in an envelope is to cut the card a bit smaller than the standard size.
I embossed a Cherry Cobbler framelit heart using the polka dot embossing folder and adhered it to the card. I cut a Baja Breeze snowflake from the Sizzix Snow Flurry die and added it to the card with a Stampin' Dimensional. A small itty bitty circle punch in Baja Breeze and large rhinestone finish it off. On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, color the stamped image using markers in the (3) colors. Once stamped, you can cut the image apart into two seperate pieces. Snip a "v" to create a banner and adhere to the card by tucking under the snowflake. Cut a piece of Baja Breeze decorative paper measuring 1" x  3 3/4" from the Twitterpated DSP. Using the Scallop Ribbon Border punch, cut (2) 3 3/4" Whisper White & (1) Cherry Cobbler punched strisp.Adhere the white to the top & bottom backside of the DSP and  adhere it to the card. On the backside of the stamped image, adhere the Cherry Cobbler strip to the backside bottom. Adhere it to the card front.

SU!pplies:

Stamps: Heart of Chreistmas
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, Twitterpated DSP.
Accessories: Scallop Ribbon border punch, Sizzix Snow Flurry die, Itty Bitty border punch, Hreat framelits, polka dot embossing folder.

I love how you coordinated the heart shape with the heart statement in the sentiment!
