Baby's First Year

Good Morning, Stampers!

I have a fun project to share with you today! My sister had her first baby on the 8th - a bit earlier than expected (2 months) but everyone is doing great! I came across a website that had a fabulous idea to document each month of the baby's first year. What a great photo opportunity! I picked up a few packages of inexpensive baby bibs and got right to work...

One of the bibs came with this adorable little giraffe embroidered on it so I decided that this would be perfect for the "welcome". I personalized it with his name so it can used it anytime.

Below, I just simply added the months - coordinating with the holidays - so that she can take his picture each month. It will be fun to see how big he gets from month to month! For the 12th month, I added "Happy Birthday". It will keep his clothes clean while eating his first piece of birthday cake!

To create this project, you just need a few colors of felt and some fabric adhesive. I used a washable fabric glue, but you could easily use some fusible iron-on as well.

I used the Sizzix Simple ABC & Numbers (115960 $89.95 - 115968 $44.95) and cut the felt thru the Big Shot. SO easy!! The entire project cost less that $17. Best of all - it's a one-of-a-kind!

Happy Stampin'!

UPDATED:
I received an email from someone who had come across this poem on the internet. I thought it was too cute not to share. I apologize I don't know where it came from..

"Congratulations on your new little one;
A fun, new chapter has just begun.
Before you know it, your baby will be growing fast
And you will want these sweet memories to last.
So, once each month of the first year,
Hang a bib 'round baby's neck so dear.
Snap a photo of your precious babe
And a year of memories is yours to save."
