My Holiday Card...

Good Morning, Stampers!

I am so thrilled that I was able to not only, create & complete my Holiday cards early this year, but also get them sent out the day AFTER Thanksgiving! I don't think I can remember a time that I have ever had them in the mail sooner than a week before Christmas - lol!

For those who know me well, I LOVE snowmen & my cards for the last, oh, 10 years, have had a snowman of some sort. I fully intended to use one of the many snowman sets that Stampin' Up has (they are all so adorable!!). But, while creating cards for one of my classes, I came up with this. Something just clicked & I knew this was going to be my card!

Yes, I suppose I could have snuck a snowman in the center, afterall, I wasn't "in love" with this stamp set to begin with. But how beautiful is that pinecone image?? Honestly, it is my ultimate favorite stamp set this Holiday Season!

Fast & Fabulous Friday!

I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday!

I have a Fast & Fabulous Holiday card to share with you today. I stamped the images in Versamark ink (102283 $7.50) and embossed with the Pewter embossing powder (124114 $4.75) for a simple, yet stunning contrast with the Ridinghood Red cardstock. A little bow with a bit of left-over Ridinghood Red & Silver ribbons and a glue dot finish it off...

A Neighborly Challenge

Good Morning, Stampers!

There is a challenge over on the So Shelli website to create a Holiday gift for a neighbor, close friend or co-worker. I decided to give it a try and this is what I came up with.

With the Holidays so close, you can find the cookie cutters just about anywhere in all shapes & sizes. I created this ornament using the Holly Berry Bouquet (124004 $12.95) DSP because I love the sparkle of the Real Red polka dots. A few small lollies (SO popular right now) along the side decorated with crochet trim, buttons & rhinestones surround the sentiment. The Crop-A-Dile (108362 $29.95) made it so easy to punch a hole in the top of the cookie cutter to hang.

It's FRIDAY!! That means it's time for a Fast & Fabulous project! I am super excited to share this idea with you today! I am head-over-heels in LOVE with the Silver Shimmer Paper (124005 $4.95), aren't you?? Don't you wish there would be a shimmer paper in every color of the Stampin' Up! rainbow?? Okay, we so have our beautiful Red Shimmer paper (121790 $4.95), but I am talking about EVERY color! Well, take a look at this!

1. I started out by punching a silver snowflake with the Snowflake punch (119852 $16.95).

2. I added some Night of Navy Classic ink refill (103033 $2.95) to the snowflake using my DRY Aqua Painter (103954 $16.95/2) and yes, you've guessed it - a sparkly Night of Navy Snowflake!! Best of all, this will work with all of the colors! It can also be applied with a stamping sponge (101610 $3.50/3) or sponge dauber (102892 $10.95/12). Experiment with all the colors & applicators for different looks!

3. I added the snowflake to the card using a dimensional & stamped the sentiment from Four The Holidays (116921 $13.95) in Night of Navy as well. I added a large Rhinestone (119246 $4.95) to the center of the snowflake for a bit of extra bling!

Medallion Ornament

Good Morning, Stampers!

Last week, I showed you how to make the Medallion from page 28 of the Holiday Mini Catalog. Today's post is a Medallion that uses the same technique, but with a few extra embellishments. I created this ornament project exclusively for my Stamp Club members to make for the month of November.

The sparkle from the large 3 1/2" Silver Glimmer circle is so beautiful in person (the photo just doesn't do it justice)! The stamp set featured is the Pines & Poinsettias (w123762 $19.95 - #123764 $14.95). To be honest with you, I really didn't care for this set when the Holiday Mini Catalog first came out. After seeing all of the beautiful things that have been created with these images, it has quickly become one of my absolute favorites for the Holidays. In fact, I made my Christmas cards using it! (I will post that card soon!) Just goes to show that you really need to give things a second & sometimes, third look!

Weekly 3/$5 - Happy Thanksgiving

Here are the cards we will be making in my 3/$5 class this week. The theme is Thanksgiving but these cards could easily be adapted to a Fall thank you, birthday, etc.. I found this glass jar while shopping last week. What a steal at only $1.00!I thought it was such a beautiful shade of blue -it speaks winter! I knew the snowflakes from the Sizzix Northern Frost decorative strip (120901 $21.95) would be perfect cut from the White Decor Elements Sheets (118795 $$12.95). It was so simple to cut & apply!
Adhering Decor Elements to glass:

1. Cut your image using desired Sizzix die & Decor Elements Sheets.
2. Peel off the back & apply to glass. Smooth.
3. Add rhinestone & ribbon embellishments if desired.

Holiday Mini Medallion

Good Morning, Stampers!

I have been asked several times about these adorable little medallions on page 28 of the Holiday Mini Catalog. They are so fun & actually not that hard to make. I have the instructions here for you to get started on your own:

1. First of all, you want to start with a 2-sided piece of decorative paper. In the Holiday Mini Catalog, they feature the Frostwood Lodge DSP (124002 $10.95). I am working with the Holly Berry DSP (124004 $12.95) from page 20 of the same Holiday Mini.

1. Start by punching/cutting 10-12 squares of DSP. I used my 1 3/8" punch (119877 $16.95). Any size square will work as long as it is a perfect square. (The smaller the square, the smaller the finished medallion. The larger the square, the larger the finished medallion, etc.)

2. Wrap each square into a cone-shape and secure just the edge of the cone with adhesive making sure that the ends line up together. (Don't worry so much about the bottom of the cone as it will be hidden)

3. Once you have all of your cones completed, hot glue them to a scrap circle. *Note: the size of the circle will not matter, but be sure it is large enough to hold the cones. You will not see the circle when you are finished. Here, I used a 1 3/4" circle (119850 $16.95).

4. Start at the top of the circle and glue each cone. I began like this and then filled in between.

5. Once you have all of the cones on the circle, you can embellish the medallion as you desire. For my sample. I simple punched out a Cherry Cobbler flower from my Boho Blossom punch (119858 $16.95) and glued it to the center of the medallion. I added a large pearl (119247 $4.95) to the center.

Here is the finished Medallion. You could easily add a ribbon to the top to hang on the tree or use as a tag for your Holiday gifts.

My Stamp Club Members made a medallion this past week. Stay tuned next week to see the finished product!

Good Morning, Stampers!

This past weekend, I set up the Christmas tree to get ready for my upcoming holiday classes. A little while back, I came across a paper mache ornament in the dollar bin at my local craft store & thought I could adorn it with some of the beautiful Holly Berry designer paper (124004 $12.95). I added lots of champagne glass glitter (120997 $3.95) & pearls (119247 $4.95) to really jazz it up. Little did I know how difficult it is to photograph all that sparkle- lol!

I have a fun & simple project to share with you this morning! I created this little "wishlist" as a quick and easy way for my kids to jot down their holiday wishes. I'm sure Santa will check the list twice! A great way to send the lists to grandparents, family & friends, too! It's a bit hard to see that I added the red glimmer paper for the berries. Just a little extra sparkle!! A strip of magnet on the back & they can be hung on the fridge..
