Tomorrow is the last day to take advantage of the products from the Summer Mini Catalog and the Buy 3 get one FREE promotion!
I love using the Strength & Hope set (w118100 $17.95 - c123660 $13.95) in colors other than pinks. It really shows how versitile this set can be. Another stamp set that will be leaving after tomorrow is the Happy Greetings (w123311 $18.95 - c123313 $14.95). There are some really great sentiments in there!

I came across a little wooden birdhouse in the dollar bin at my local craft store & thought it would fun to decorate it with some of the Designer Papers I got this month during the Buy 3 get one FREE sale. I used the Just Add Cake DSP (124339 $10.95) - it is NOT just for birthdays :O) To adhere the papers, I just used our Mulitpurpose Liquid Glue (110755 $3.95). It dries clear and doesn't warp the papers.
The roof was made by running Chocolate Chip cardstock thru the Sizzix with the Houndstooth embossing folder (123134 $7.95) and then punching them out with the 3/4" circle punch (119873 $10.95). The edging was done with the Scallop Trim Border Punch (118402 $15.95). The flowers were made with the Boho Blossoms punch (119858 $16.95) and the Little Leaves (114511 $5.50) and Swirls Scribbles (113441 $4.95) Sizzlits.

I have a fun project to share with you today that - believe it or not - involves NO stamping! I created this framed art piece for a special friend who will soon be a Grandma for the first time! Everything you see here was created with punches & Sizzix dies cuts. The "welcome" could easily be substituted to personalize with a child's name.

Today's Fast & Fabulous Friday project features the NEW Haunted Forest a la carte stamp (123841 $9.95) from the Holiday Mini Catalog. What a simple stamp to work with! I can see a lot of possibilities with this one!
1. Stamp the image in Basic Black ink.
2. Using sponge daubers, lightly sponge Tangerine Tango & So Saffron in the center of the image.
3. Color the trees, pumpkin & leaves in Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango & Always Artichoke and an Aqua Painter.
4. Tie a Basic Black 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon.**
** I have a few ribbon shares of this ribbon - contact me to reserve yours!
SSSC131 I decided to "step it up a notch" and play along in the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge this week. I used the same idea, just added a few more layers, textures & embellishments.

Time is running out on the Summer Mini Catalog! If you have your favorites picked out & haven't ordered them yet, you have just 9 days left to do so! One of the stamp sets I am going to miss the most is the Strength & Hope set (w118100 $17.95 - c123660 $13.95). Stampin' Up! will donate $2 from the sale of each set to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
For this card, I wanted to show you that not all cards have to be "pink". I colored the butterfly with several markers (Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Peach Parfait & Certainly Celery) & then stamped the image. A little dazzling diamonds (102023 $4.50) add a touch of sparkle!
Don't forget about the My Digital Studio kit, too! (124475 $9.95) It includes a 4 piece stamp set, 12 designer papers & 10 embellishments. It is compatable with Mac & Windows.

I have heard so many times how difficult it can be to come up with card ideas. I have had that problem so many times I lost count! HaHa...
One of the things that helps me get going is a card map. A card map is a basic layout that varies in shapes, sizes, colors & even direction. It is a starting point for you to follow to get your "creative juices flowing"... The card map below is a basic layout from Stampin' Up!. It is a simple layout for a beginner. The thing I love most about using a card map is once I get going, things just "come to me". A lot of times my finished card looks nothing like the card map, either!! lol!
Here is the card map:
Here is my finished card. I tried to keep it as close to the map as possible to show you just how easy it can be. And, just because the map shows a certain shape or color, doesn't mean you have to stick to it!
