Faux Glitter Brads

Hello, Stampers!

I have had several requests on how I make my "faux" glitter brads. It was actually a bit of a "duh" moment for me - ha ha!! The cards I featured for my St. Patrick's Day card kit have several "faux" brads on each for lots of shimmer:

It is so simple to do!

1. Take a strip of glue dots & add your fine glitter to each one. I have found that the fine glitter works best. The chunky glitter needs a bit more stronger adhesive & loses it's round shape when used. Experiment with what you have on hand.

2. Next, take your finger and gently "smoosh" and rub the glitter into the glue dot. Tap off the excess. This is a lot harder than it sounds. Glitter is FULL OF STATIC!

3. Using the tip of your scissors or your favorite embellishment tool, carefully transfer the glue dot to your project. Thats it!

Happy glittering!!

Trick the eye.....

Hello, Stampers!

Today's card features Designer Series Paper. This paper has all of the looks of multiple layers, but it is actually just one sheet of paper. It tricks the eye into thinking there are several layers of paper. I simply cut the paper to 3 3/4 x 5 and layerd it onto a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 So Saffron. A few simple embellishments - ribbon, tag & rhinestones - and you have a great looking card!

The stamp set used here is another of our Sale-A-Bration "FREEBIES" So Happy For You (w121853 - c123220). The tag comes from the Lots of Tags Sizzlit dies (114508 - $21.95).

Fast & Fabulous Friday!

Good Morning, Stampers!
Today's Fast & Fabulous Friday project is featuring our Decor Elements Sheets. A quick run of this vinyl thru the Sizzix Big Shot and your favorite Sizzix die & you can create some truly unique projects! Personalizing has never been easier!
I used the Sweet Buttons Embosslit (121813 $11.95) from the Occasions Mini Catalog along with the White Decor Elements Vinyl (114335 $12.95) from pg. 205 of the Idea Book & Catalog to create this jar to hold all of the little buttons from the Ice Cream Parlor Ribbon & Button Pack (123529) that I earned from the Sale-A-Bration promotion.

I wanted to keep this project simple & under 5 minutes to make, but you can make your project as elaborate as you want. Add the word "Buttons" or maybe even a name to give as a personalized gift? You could even embellish the lid with more buttons, paper flowers, etc. What about filling the jar with a tasty treat? There are so many possibilities!
1. Run your Decor Vinyl sheet thru the Sizzix Big Shot using Sweet Buttons embosslit.
2. Peel off the backing and apply to the jar.
3. Fill and embellish as desired!

Good Morning, Stampers!

Awhile back, I came across this pattern for a watering can & thought it would be a fun challenge to try. I finally had an opportunity the other day & I am really pleased with how it turned out. I won't kid you, it does take some work (and a bit of patience) but I think it was worth it. :o)

1. Print the pattern onto cardstock of your choice & cut pieces. I used Baja Breeze.
2. Stamp pieces. I used the swirl image in Baja Breeze ink.
3. Run the pieces thru the Big Shot using an embossing folder. I used the Perfect Polka Dots (117335 $7.95)
4. Assemble watering can using a strong adhesive. I used the Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755 $3.95)
5. Stamp flowers onto Whisper White cardstock with Baja Breeze Ink & cut out.
6. Stamp "friend" sentiment onto Baja Breeze cardstock using Whisper White Craft Ink & cut out.
7. Run a strip of Always Artichoke cardstock thru your Big Shot using the Swirly Decorative Strip (113456 $19.95). Trim into thirds.
8. Adhere flowers & swirls to the front of the watering can using Stampin' Dimentionals.
9. Add Rhinestones (119246 $4.95) to the center of the flowers.

Fast & Fabulous Friday - A Little Leprechan

Good Morning, Stampers!

I have a little leprechan punch art to share with you today. A few punches, some cardstock scraps & 2 "googlie" eyes is all it takes to make this lucky little fella! You'll be putting him on all your St. Patty's Day papercrafting projects!

Here are the punches you will need:
To assemble: Adhere Very Vanilla circle to Pumpkin Pie scallop.
Add the Garden Green tag punch as the hat. (be sure to trim off 1/2" first)
Add a small strip of Pumpkin Pie leftover DSP. Add the Garden Green word window punch. (Pay no attention to that indentation. Not sure where that came from!)

Add the little Very Vanilla circle nose & the "googlie" eyes. Using a black marker, draw in a mouth.
Isn't he cute?

3/$5 Class

Good Morning, Stampers!

The theme for this week's 3/$5 class is FUN FOLD'S. The cards I chose for this week are simple but look like you spent a lot of time making them! Remember, these cards are meant to be completed in under an hour!

The Star card is a new technique taught at the Leadership Convention this past January. It is a cut -n- tuck style card that is sure to WOW the recipient! The Heart card is simply folded like a pair of french doors. I then took my Curly Label punch (119851 $16.95) and punched a bit out of both "doors". The third card actually has it's fold on the inside of the card. When you open the card, there is an inner flap that folds down. This gives extra writing space for a special note.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Good Morning, Stampers!

I have a fun little project to show you today. It uses a product that most of have in our kitchen - wax paper! Stampin' on wax paper - who knew? Actually, I saw the idea of stamping on wax paper on a scrapbook website & thought I would give it a try. I had so much fun making these for some special little Valentine's of mine!
To make this project, you will need to have 2 layers of the wax paper. First I traced a heart onto the wax paper. Since wax paper is not porous, you will need to use a permanent ink. I used the Jet Black Stazon Ink (101406 $7.95) to stamp the sentiment and some colorful permanent markers to color in the image. Then I started hand stitching (machine stitching will work, too!) around the inside of the traced line. When I got towards the end, I added my candy and then finished the stitching. After the stitching is complete, I cut the heart out on the traced lines & added a little Red Glimmer (121814 $3.95) punched heart for the flower. Enjoy!
