FINALLY a post & a stamping tradegy!

Good Morning, Stampers!

I am heading out west (Chicago - ha ha) today but wanted to get a post in for you! I have finally completed my hand made family gifts for this year and let me tell you, I am beyond thrilled!!

Are you ready to see what took 16 yards of fabric, 1500 yards of thread, 2108 die cut squares and 38 hours to complete????

Look no further:

Each family from both my side & my husband's side will each get one of these coffee table checker boards - 17 total in all! They are all complete & just about all wrapped. I am so glad to be done!! Oh wait, my son says, "Mom, didn't you make one for us?" Well, why didn't I think of that?? DUH! I guess I will have one more to make when I return home late next week :o) I had a few that I customized for my Sister-in-law (U of M) & my brother, the hunter. They really were fun to make - I hope they like them!

SO here is my stamping tragedy. I was just about done cutting the last of my die cut squares, last night when this happened:

Yep, my acrylic cutting pad cracked right down the middle! I guess after two years, it had had enough! Good thing there is still time to put a new one in my stocking - thanks, Santa!!

Well, I need to pack up the car & family & hit the road.

A Change of Plans

Good Morning, Stampers!

I apologize that I haven't been a very good Blogger these last few days. The Holidays are fast approaching & I am still working hard on getting everything done. On top of that, my Mom fell on the ice & broke her arm. SO, my family & I are heading to Chicago a week early to help her out. Trying to get everything done before we go is definitely a challenge! I don't have my cards & gifts done, so I am stamping & sewing all day & night. I promise I will have more photos for you real soon!

Family Fun!

We had a bit of Davies Family fun last night when my good friend, Sharon, the photographer made a house call!

Stamp Club Make & Take

Good Morning, Stampers!


Each year for the Holidays, I have my stamp club make something other than a card. Usually is is a bit more detailed and is something that they can use for decoration year after year. This is what my club members made this past week:

The star is assembled using the Sizzix 5 point 3D star (113473 - $19.95) and the Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper (117159 - $9.95)

The medallion in the center is done by scoring & folding the paper "accordian-style". Bring the ends together and flatten to form a circle. It is that easy! If you need further instructions, let me know!

The club members really enjoyed it & talked about how great it would be for 4th of July or as a banner. Great ideas, Ladies!

Stamp Club & Class gifts

Every year for the Holidays, I treat my clubs & 3/$5 classes with a hand-stamped desk calendar to thank them for their dedication & support thruout the year. If It wasn't for them, my business would not be as successful as it is!! For this year's calendar, I used the easel card idea & modified it to become the stand for the calendar. Take a look:

I get the printable calendar here. I keep the months fairly simple as I have found that too many embellishments weigh the calendars down. Thanks for looking!!

Tag Party

I have a workshop this morning and the Hostess has requested Holiday Tags. I created this simple tag using the Sizzix Snowflake #2 die (113460-$15.95) and the Snowman from the Tags Til Christmas stamp set from pg. 9 of the Holiday Mini Catalog. (w120847 $30.95 - c121169 $22.95). I added a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter (102023 $4.50) and a simple knot with the Marina Mist 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon (119965 - $6.95)

Ornament Card

Good Morning Stampers!

Today's card is a "shape" card that is so simple to make. We will be making this card in my 3/$5 class today.

All you need is 2 circles of any size. I used the Sizzix Clear Circle (114533 - $19.95) here. It is large enough to still fit in an A2 envelope.

1. Cut 2 circles
2. Punch one Round Tab Punch (119864 - $16.95)
3. Decorate as desired. I used the Lovely as a Tree (115026 - $27.95)
4. Glue circles to the tab allowing the cord to fit thru.
5. Sponge edges with ink & add glitter!

Simple Punch Card

Here is one of the cards we will be making in my 3/$5 classes this week. It features the snowflake punch (119852 $16.95) snipped to form a tree. I love when my punches have dual purposes!

1. Punch 2 snowflakes

2. Snip one of them in 3 places. (see top photo)

3. Snip the other in half. (see bottom photo)

4. Assemble from the bottom; 4 branches, 3 branches, 2 branches & one for the top.

Owl Ornaments

Good Morning, Stampers!

I made several of these adorable little guys for the ladies in my Scrappy Chicks stamp group. They have been so wonderful and supportive this past year and I wanted to thank them with a special gift!

Instead of the recommended wool felt, I used our Candy Cane Christmas Designer Fabric from pg. 16 of the Holiday Mini Catalog. (121715 - $9.95)

December Framed Art

This is the sample of the framed art we will be making for the month of December. The inspiration for this came from an idea I saw from Julie Case on Splitcoast Stampers. You can see her original design here

I am offering this in a class on Monday, December 6th @ 7pm or as a kit.

It is Friday! Woo Hoo! Time for a Fast & Fabulous project!

Those large peppermint sticks are perfect for a quick Secret Santa gift. I dressed this one up a bit with the scallop circle Sizzix die & scallop punch.

1. Die cut a large scallop circle. (113468 $19.95)

2. Die cut a large circle in coordinating Holiday DSP. (114533 $19.95) Here I used the Candy Cane Christmas paper (120809 $11.95) Adhere together.

3. Punch a 1 3/4" scallop circle (119854 - $16.96)

4. Punch a 1 3/8" circle in coordinating DSP. (119860 $15.95) Glue together.

5. Wrap the lg. scallop circle around the candy cane. Staple together. Add the small scallop circle to the top using a dimensional.

6. Decorate as desired!

Before I post todays project, I wanted to welcome my 2 newest members of my RubberFUNatics team! WELCOME to Dianne & Rachel! I am SO excited to have you!
