Today we honor those who have served in our Military - both past & present. It seems only fitting to show you these cards that I created from my Scrappy Chick's group. The one on the left was originally designed by Sharon B. & the one on the right was originally designed by Sharon G. I LOVE these cards! I am so lucky to be with such a talented group of ladies!

A ribbon share thanks...

I created this note set for all of the ladies who participated in my ribbon share. It features the Crumb Cake/Kraft cardstock (107070), Flower Fancy Stamp Set (111578) & the Scallop Edge Border Punch (112091). I used my Aqua Painter (103954) to color the flower in the Bravo Burgundy ink. The center is the NEW Gold Glow Smooch Spritz (118770) from the Summer Mini Catalog. I outlined the flower edge with Dazzling Diamonds glitter (102023). Thanks again to all who participated!

Scrappy Chicks - Red,White & Blue

Hello Stampers!

Todays project is an old idea with new products. Our Scrappy Chick's group is meeting today & our challenge was to create a shoebox project in a Red, White & Blue theme. I immediately thought of party crackers. Fill a cardboard tube (Yes, I do save all my toilet paper rolls!!) with candy and wrap with a piece of tissue paper. Tie both ends & decorate! SO SIMPLE!! The July Fourth stamp set is from pg. 28 of the Summer Mini Catalog (118523-w $18.95 or 120063 -c $14.95) Hope they like it!

A little late....

This is a card I had made for Mother's Day & forgot to post. It features a new stamp set called Awash With Flowers that will be available in the soon-to-be-released 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog! The technique is crayon resist. Once completed, I ran it thru the new Square Lattice texture folder from the Summer Mini Catalog. (119976 - $7.95) The ribbon is the 5/8" Satin ribbon also from the Summer Mini Catalog. It comes in 9 different colors. Shown is the Certainly Celery. The tag is from the exclusive Stampin' Up! Lots of Tags Sizzix die. (pg. 197 114508 $21.95/4)

Watercolor Crayons

This card features the Watercolor Wonder Crayons (pg 154) as a washed background. Simply color the watercolor paper (pg. 158 - #105019) with the crayons and blend the colors using an Aqua Painter (pg. 192 - #103954). Sooooo easy!

Black Magic Technique

Hello Stampers!

Here are the step-by-step directions to the Black Magic Technique:

Step 1: Stamp your image onto black cardstock using White Craft Ink. (Bold images work best)
Step 2: Heat set. (You can also let air dry but I am tooooo impatient!!)
Step 3: Using WATERCOLOR pencils, begin in the center of your image with a dark color - pressing well.
Step 4: Continue to color the image using a lighter tone/color as you move to the outer edge of the image - easing up on the pressure a bit.

That is it! Isn't it so SIMPLE, vibrant & beautiful? Now, try it on light shades of cardstock and see what kind of results you get! Happy Stampin'!

Mother's Day Bag

I found this bag at the store & fell in love with the colors. I thought I would dress it up a bit with some felt flowers & my NEW Sizzix Bigz die Island Floral (118871) from the Summer Mini Catalog. I had lots of scrap ribbons to fill the key ring. I will fill with stampin' goodies for my Mom for Mother's Day!

Teacher Appreciation

I made 40 of these for the teacher's at my son's school for Teacher Appreciation Week. I have a few for my teacher friends, too! (You know who you are!!)
